Note on the Final Exam

Students in second period caught an error with the grading for Standard IC.6.

I have corrected the error and redistributed scores. If your answers had been marked correct, your grade (for that standard) does not change. If the correction improves your grade, then the error has been changed as of 10:30am today.

All grades, including those from today's "Exit Tickets" will be input by 5:30pm today.

Final Grades

Several of you have already asked how you might be able to bring up your grade after the final exam.

Wednesday in class, you will be able to retake up to two standards from the final exam you took on Monday or Tuesday.

Here's the Rules:
  • You must have taken the final on time to be eligible for retaking a standard.
  • The first part of class time will be for you to review the grade from your final, decide what you would like to retake (if anything), and study. The last 20 minutes will be reserved for your retake.
  • Any retakes MUST be completed in YOUR class on Wednesday. I am not available after school or during another period if you change your mind. If you are not able to attend school on Wednesday, your final grade is final.
  • The grade on the retake will REPLACE the grade for that standard. The floor is a grade of 1, so I would recommend retaking only standards for which you received a 1; this is the only way your grade will not drop further.
  • The increase of grade will only apply to your final exam, not to the semester work.
  • Any evidence of cheating will revoke your privilege of retake.

Unit 3 Review Stations

Standard S.ID.4 - Use the mean and standard deviation of a data set to fit it to a normal distribution and to estimate population percentages. Recognize that there are data sets for which such a procedure is not appropriate. Use calculators, spreadsheets, and tables to estimate areas under the normal curve.
