Objective: SWBAT, learn about the character traits that successful people and leaders have had to encounter in the face of obstacles or difficulties. Students will also be able to demonstrate their understandings throught verbal discussions with diverse partners, and by writing a journal entry about their own experience as a student with a learning difference.

Agenda
- Warm Up: Complete Presentations (10 min)
- Students read “A Student's Guide to the IEP” analyze their own IEP goals and accommodations to see how it aligns with the article. http://www.understood.org/en/school-learning/special- services/ieps/understanding-individualized-education-programs (20 min)
- In discussion, students compare and contrast the qualities of the author with those of their peers/partner. Fill out compare and contrast graphic organizer. (15 min)
- Students write a journal entry describing their own experience as a student with an IEP.
