To re-do satire essay please follow these steps:

 

1. Make changes to your satire essay.

2. Complete a re-do explanation handout that can be found in the absent box.

3. Print out new satire essay.

4. Annotate the changes you made and how they improve your satire essay.

5. Schedule a time to meet with JM outside of class.

6. Bring your re-do explanation handout and your annotated re-done satire essay to the meeting.  Be ready to read your satire essay, discuss the changes you made, and agree on a new grade.

Your "What does it mean to be an American?" essay is due by 2:00pm.

Please print your essay and share your google document with me at [email protected]. If you don't print AND share your essay, I will not grade your essay.

Today you will have one hour in class to type your essay, which should already be written in full on paper.  If you need more than 1 hour to type, you will need to do it on your own time.

By the end of class today you should be done with your essay.

33% - Use of evidence in freedom seminar.  If you have questions or concerns about your freedom seminar please come talk to me by Friday, 9/7 at 4pm.

 

33% - Central idea exit ticket.  If you have not turned in your central idea exit ticket, please do so by Friday, 9/7 at 4pm.

 

33% - 1.5 tone paragraph.  If you want to improve your grade on this paragraph, please turn in a rewritten paragraph no later than Monday, 9/10 at 8am.

Ask a family member or friend who identifies as an immigrant:

 

1) Why did you come to the United States?

 

2) What does it mean to be "American"?
