UCLA STUDENTS OF COLOR FOR PUBLIC HEALTH MEMBERS ACT AS MENTORS FOR 9TH GRADE CLASS

Graduate students from UCLA's Students of Color for Public Health mentored HSA students throughout the second semester of the 2010-11 school year.  Mentors met with advisory classes every two weeks to guide students through public health focused projects.  The themes chosen for this year included: community, environmental health, the biology and public health implications of HIV, cancer, vaccination, Earth Day, infection control, the obesity epidemic in the U.S., quality of life, and various careers in public health.

Our sincere thanks to our mentors and everyone at the UCLA School of Public Health for providing this incredible opportunity to our students.

Go Bruins!
