HSA's Wolf Pack has Grown!

During the month of July, the Wolves welcomed new members to their pack. We are excited to announce that former HSA Spanish Teacher, Evelyn Castro has transitioned out of the classroom and into the Assistant Principal position that Dr. McCullough previous held. Additionally, we welcomed Veenga Gogate to the team to round out the Principal Team as our 2nd Assistant Principal. Finally, Christopher Sandoval joins the Counseling team as the new counselor for our 9th and 10th grade wolves. We are thrilled to have these highly capable and innovative leaders in the Wolf Pack! Check out some fun facts about our new Wolves below!

Evelyn Castro, Assistant Principal

• Hometown: Born in Ecuador, and moved to California at the age of 11

• Favorite Subject: “I love Spanish since I taught Spanish, but I have always had a strong passion and love for math.”

• Favorite High School Memory: “I went to Santa Monica High School, a school with over 3,000 students and what I enjoyed the most were our pep rally held in the Greek Theater. They were huge and full of school spirit. My friends and I would always make shirts, paint our faces, and create chants.”

• Most Looking Forward to…: “I am looking forward to supporting students and staff as one of the new Assistant Principals this year. It has been an amazing experience to have supported my students over the last four years in the classroom and being able to transition into a leadership role and work with them, our staff, and our parents at the school I also taught at is a great honor.”

• To the HSA Student Body: “You cannot love and care for others without loving and caring for yourself first. This means that you make decisions and take action based on what is best for you. Before you act, think and reflect and really ask yourself if that decision is what is best for you and your future. Make it your best year yet and work as hard as you can to have plenty of options for your future!”

“I am excited to continue my work at HSA which has been home to me for the last four years. I was in the inaugural class of teachers and now I am one of the Assistant Principals and I could not be any happier. I look forward to a great year of success and learning.”

Veena Gogate, Assistant Principal

• Hometown: Palos Verdes, CA

• Favorite Subject: Math ☺

• Favorite High School Memory: “My best high school memory is getting my first college acceptance letter. It was such a great feeling to know that my hard work had paid off.”

• Most Looking Forward to...: “I’m most looking forward to working with all of our amazing staff members, students, and parents. I am also looking forward to taking on new challenges while helping students achieve greatness.”

• To HSA’s Student Body: “Get ready! It’s going to be an exciting, fun-filled, and wonderful year! This year, strive to make your dreams a reality by setting goals, working hard, holding high expectations, following through, and having a little fun in the process!”
