9th grader Jamal M.'s rendition of the poem "What is a Man?" has earned him a place in the national finals of a fraternity competition and a chance at scholarship money.  

His performance at the 45th Far Western Region Xinos/Kudos Conference also earned him a feature in the Los Angeles Sentinel.

Jamal showed incredible initiative in seeking out this scholarship opportunity on his own, and we will all be rooting for him when he heads to San Francisco to participate in the finals.
