ELEVEN HSA SOPHOMORES ACCEPTED TO DREW UNIVERSITY COLLEGE BOUND PREP PLUS PROGRAM

College Bound Prep Plus is one of the many enrichment opportunities that the College of Science and Health and Charles Drew University offers throughout the year.  Funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, the program offers two 15-week sessions each academic year.

During the sessions, participants take part in labs, lectures, field trips, seminars and workshops focused on science and math related topics including, but not limited to, chemistry, physics, radiography, health information technology, HIV/AIDS, DNA and laboratory procedures, and research and presentations methods.

The program also helps to better prepare students for college by offering support in critical areas such as computer literacy, library resources, writing skills, college admissions, financial aid, money management and budgeting.

To gain admission, students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above, complete an application and written essay, and secure a teacher recommendation.  The program is offered free of charge to eligible high school students in the Los Angeles Metropolitan area

Congratulations to all of the HSA sophomores who were accepted to be a part of the Spring 2011 session!  They are:  Tanea B., Jade C., Paola D., Roshawndra E., Stephanie G., Desiree K., Natalie N., Eucharia O., Alejandra O., Denisha R., and Itzel R.!
