As we embark upon the 2015-16 school year, I am so proud of the things that we have accomplished together. Over the past two years we have gained a six-year accreditation for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), moved to a new location on 106th and Western, and watched as our third graduating class left the nest.
Each of these accomplishments could not have been done without you. Your collaboration and contributions to the WASC self-study process coupled with your patience as we transitioned to a new site; helped us to complete two successful academic years. Your support has been instrumental in the overarching desire that each HSA student leave our gates with a quality education that equips them to be both college and career ready. As we begin this academic year I ask that you continue to show your support for our school and for your individual child.
In our quest to make your child the best that he or she can be, we need your help. Please continue to dialogue with your child each night about what they learned in school. Consistently check homework and monitor your child’s grade by using both our online system, and making frequent school visits to talk with teachers and observe classes. Finally read with your child daily. This can be done both at home and by making sure that your child has consistent access to the local public library.
As you do your part at home, we will continue to facilitate a quality school program. Remember we need your help to provide the best support for your child. Teamwork truly makes the dream work and by collaborating as partners, your child will reach even greater heights than we could have imagined.
I am looking forward to working with you and your child in the coming school year. Together, we can strive for and obtain excellence.
